Jung Eun Kim
President
A native of Seoul, Korea, pianist Jung Eun Kim has garnered acclaim from international audiences and critics alike for her outstanding performances, earning praised for her impressive combination of virtuoso technique and colorful musicality. As a winner of the Artists International Special Presentation Award, she made her New York recital debut in September 2001 at Weill Recital Hall of Carnegie Hall receiving highest acclaim
She has participated in the international festivals including the Mozarteum Music Festival in Salzburg, The Juilliard Festival in New York, and has performed at the Austrian Young Artists Concert in Austria. Her solo and chamber music engagements have included performances at prestigious venues as Carnegies Weill Recital Hall and Merkin Concert Hall in New York, as well as concert venues in Europe and in Korea. She appeared as a one of the soloist as an exclusive concert series with Manhattan Chamber Orchestra with Maestro David Gilbert sponsored by Yamaha Piano Inc. in November 2007-2008 season in New York and Livingston Symphony Orchestra with Maestro Istvan Jaray in May 2008 in New Jersey. She also was invited as a soloist at the Palau Musica Catalana in Barcelona in Spain sponsored by New York Concert Artists & Associates in 2009, Upcoming engagements include at the New Jersey Philharmonic Orchestra in New York among others.
The recipient of various awards and prizes, She has been a top prize winner in the World Symphony Orchestra Competition, The Samik Piano Competition, and Hankook Il Bo Annual Piano Competition. After receiving her Bachelors degree from Dankook University in Seoul, She pursued graduate studies at the Manhattan School of Music where she received her Master of Music and Professional studies as a student of Marc Silverman. Jung Eun Kim currently serves on the piano faculty of the Amati Conservatory and Tenafly Arts. And she is working as an assistant director for Musical Into the woods, Mikado in 2007-2008 season in New Jersey.
She is member of the National Piano Foundation. In addition, She is a collaborative pianist for the Holy Apostles Community Chorus, the NYU Tisch School for the Arts, Museovich Productions, and the Boys choir of Harlem. She is the co-founder President of the New York International Artists Association.
Wei Tan
Artistic Director
Violinist Wei Tan holds the Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from the Manhattan School of Music, where studied was under the tutelage of Stanley Bednar. She has also studied with Joey Corpus, and Weigang Li of the Shanghai String Quartet. As a soloist and chamber musician, Ms. Tan has performed regularly in the United States as well as in China, Norway, Iceland, and Austria. She made her New York debut at Weill Recital Hall of Carnegie Hall in 2002.
Born into a family of musicians in Shanghai, Ms. Tan began her violin studies at the age of three with her father, Guo-Zhang Tan, and grandfather, Shu-Chen Tan. Her grandfather was a renowned violinist, an influential educator, and held the position of Deputy Director of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music between 1949-1984. At age thirteen, she made her public debut in a live concert performing Lalo Symphonie Espagnole as soloist on the Shanghai Radio Station.
For more than a decade, Ms. Tan has earned numerous awards, beginning as a grant recipient of the Music for the World Foundation and the Blue Ridge Foundation, and continuing as a winner of the Lillian Fuchs Chamber Music Competition and as a Special Award winner of the 2001-2002 Artists International Presentation Series.
Ms. Tan’s solo and chamber music performances have been broadcast on WQXR, the Hong Kong Radio Station, and the Shanghai Classical Music Television network. Currently, she is on the faculty of the Westport School of Music in Connecticut.
As the co-founder of the New York International Artists Association, Ms. Tan acts as the Artistic Director of the organization.
Solomon Mikowsky

Solomon Mikowsky’s students have won over 150 international piano competitions, including the Rubinstein in Tel-Aviv (three winners including 1st prize), Tchaikovsky and Sviatoslav Richter in Moscow, Van Cliburn (Special Award), Beethoven in Bonn (1st prize), Schumann in Leipzig (1st prize), Dublin, Vianna da Motta (two winners), Porto (two winners), Andorra (four winners including two 1st prizes), China International Competition (two winners), Panama (nine winners including three 1st prizes), and more than twenty-five winners of the Manhattan School of Music Concerto Competition.
They have also won many competitions in Spain, including the Santander (1st prize), Maria Canals in Barcelona (eight winners including three 1st prizes), Iturbi in Valencia (four winners including two 1st prizes), Jaen (six winners including 1st prize), Pilar Bayona in Zaragoza (five winners including 1st prize), Guerrero in Madrid (three winners including 1st prize) and Carlet (four 1st-prize winners). Mikowsky’s students have also been recipients of the prestigious Gilmore Artist Award ($300,000) and the Avery Fisher Artist Career Grant.
Mikowsky’s students have appeared with the Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Berlin, Budapest, Munich, St. Petersburg and Tokyo symphony orchestras; the BBC, Berlin, Dresden, London (Royal), Moscow, New York, Rotterdam and Israel Philharmonic Orchestras; the Staatskapelle Dresden, the Zürich Tonhalle and the National Orchestras of Finland, France, Mexico and the Czech Republic, under Comissiona, Dudamel, Dutoit, Ehrling, Eschenbach, Fischer, Frubeck de Burgos, Masur, Skrowaczewski and Zinman.
Solomon Mikowsky was born in Cuba of Russian-Polish parents. His early training was with Cesar Perez Sentenat, who studied in Paris with Joaquin Nin, student of Moszkowski, a Liszt pupil. He was granted scholarships by the Cuban government and the Juilliard School to study in New York with Sascha Gorodnitzki, foremost pupil of legendary Russian virtuoso Josef Lhevinne, earning a doctorate from Columbia University.
He serves on the juries of some of the most important international competitions. He has given master classes in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Warsaw, Budapest, Salzburg, London, Paris, Tel-Aviv, and throughout Australia and the Far East. During the summer, he directs his International Piano Festivals in Europe, where he teaches and his students perform in recitals and as orchestral soloists.
Cited as “one of the world’s most sought-after artist teachers” (Clavier) for “a magical ability to develop his piano students into artists” (Sur Expres), Solomon Mikowsky is featured in Benjamin Saver’s The Most Wanted Piano Teachers in the USA, has been honored by the Institute of International Education, and was awarded the Presidential Medal by the Manhattan School of Music. He has been a member of the Manhattan School of Music College faculty since 1974 and of the Precollege faculty since 1969.
Weigang Li
Artistic Advisor
Born into a family of well-known musicians in Shanghai, Weigang Li began studying the violin with his parents at the age of five and attended the Shanghai Conservatory of Music at age fourteen. Three years later, in 1981, he was selected to go to study for one year at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music through the first cultural exchange program between the sister cities of Shanghai and San Francisco. In 1985, upon graduating from the Shanghai Conservatory, Weigang Li left China again to continue his studies at Northern Illinois University and later studied and taught at the Juilliard School as teaching assistant to the Juilliard Quartet.
Besides his parents, Mr. Li’s teachers have included Shmuel Ashkenasi, Tan Shu-Chen and Isadore Tinkleman. Mr. Li was featured in the 1980 Oscar-winning documentary film, From Mao to Mozart: Isaac Stern in China. He made his orchestral debut at seventeen with the BBC Symphony Orchestra. He has appeared as soloist with China Philharmonic, Shanghai Symphony, Asian Youth Orchestra, Seoul Chamber Orchestra, Rochester Philharmonic, Richmond Symphony, and BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra.
Weigang Li is the first violinist of the Shanghai Quartet since its founding in 1983. Currently in its 30th season, the Shanghai Quartet has performed over 2000 concerts; recorded 30 CD albums, including a newly released 7-discs cycle of complete Beethoven string quartets on Camerata label; earned the reputation as one of the world’s most outstanding string quartets. Weigang Li plays over 100 concerts annually with the Shanghai Quartet, touring major music centers of Europe and North America. He has performed in Amsterdam, Budapest, Hamburg, London, Milan, Montpellier, Moscow, Munich, Prague, Rome, Vienna and Warsaw, as well as every major city in the US. In Asia, he is also actively concertizing and giving master-classes in China, Japan, Korea and Singapore.
Mr. Li is a professor of violin at Montclair State University in New Jersey and Bard Conservatory in New York. He also holds the title of Guest Concertmaster of the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra and Guest Professor of Chamber Music at both the Shanghai Conservatory and the Central Conservatory in Beijing.
Amédée Williams
Board Members
American born conductor and violist, Amédée Williams has performed throughout the U.S., Canada, Argentina, Ireland, and Italy. He has been a participant in the Los Angeles Philharmonic Institute and was featured on a Young Artist Concert Series presented by the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.
Mr. Williams is the author of Lillian Fuchs: First Lady of the Viola, a biography of a musician who was one of his teachers, and has contributed several articles for the new edition of the Groves Dictionary of Music and Musicians.
He is one of the foremost experts on Eichner in America. Mr. Williams serves as president of The William Lincer Foundation and is also on the faculty of both Scarsdale High School and the Hoff-Barthelson School of Music.
